Architectural photography can be a great way of exploring and documenting a city, whether it's your home or on holiday. Its about capturing not only the design and accurate representation of a building, but to have the shots be aesthetically pleasing to the viewer's eye. An architectural photographer makes pictures, not takes pictures.

In this session, we will be covering how to better understand Architecture photography and we'll be looking at ways to take some impressive shots and the camera settings to use.

It was a great experience. I was nervous because I have no experience, but Helen made sure that we were comfortable and I feel excited to continue trying the methods that I learned.

I really enjoyed the class. Honestly I was a bit nervous, it was the first time for me. Even if I've been sketching for years I decided to join the beginner class. A very friendly environment, lovely teacher and students. I'd like to join other classes.

I?m had a pleasant morning with a lovely group of fellow sketchers. Helen was supportive and helpful. I?m glad it wasn?t outside though and I certainly wouldn?t book an outdoor class unless it was landscape in Northern Ireland?s changeable climate!

I thought it was a very good introduction to oils. Whilst we didn't spend a lot of time attempting to paint a piece in the medium, we were given a solid introduction to the mechanics of use (e.g., how to mix colour, how to apportion thinners, how to clean etc.,). This for me was particularly important.

The Fairy Glen at Rostrevor is a beautiful place located in Northern Ireland. My husband Mark and I were fortunate enough to have visited it during one of our holidays. The Fairy Glen provides the start of a pleasant walk where you can see beautiful sceneries worth painting or taking photographs. It has a gentle riverside and scenic parkland and woodland. Medium used are oil paints. Scale is 20"x30". The Base is on canvas with solid wood stretcher bars.

It was a day out at Culross a very picturesque historic town in Fife. Because of the olde ye appearance it has featured in the TV series Outlander and the film of the book Kidnapped written by Robert Louis Stevenson?s. The whole place is photogenic. I had a thought about all the artists and photographers that have graced the its streets and it must be in thousands. I wonder how many have ever produced a rendering of the oil refinery on the other bank of the Forth.

Clouds fascinate me, constantly changing shape and color. This painting is of the front pasture with a dash of artistic license. The willow tree towers in the middle of a wet weather creek and begged to be painted.(There is no box for my website, so I hesitated to input it, but would appreciate a mention if allowed....FeliciaLWhite.com. I love painting little creatures. I have been a working artist all of my life but never had the chance to perfect my skills in artistry. Now that I am retired, I find myself painting something every day with acrylics, watercolors, and or inks. I started painting on terracotta pots, then started making my hand-crafted paper to paint on, and then to tea bags and now painting little ornaments. My friends say that I paint on anything but canvas. This is true!
