Architectural photography can be a great way of exploring and documenting a city, whether it's your home or on holiday. Its about capturing not only the design and accurate representation of a building, but to have the shots be aesthetically pleasing to the viewer's eye. An architectural photographer makes pictures, not takes pictures.

In this session, we will be covering how to better understand Architecture photography and we'll be looking at ways to take some impressive shots and the camera settings to use.

I really enjoyed the Beginners class on Saturday. Natalie is a great tutor. She explained the techniques well and gave us demonstrations too. She has a lovely approachable manner too. A follow-up in sketching would be good if that were possible.

I enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere created by the tutorial Natalie. We had a pleasant location to practice in and the group were friendly and inclusive. Of course the beautiful weather helped with the ambience! Overall I was impressed with the speed with which Natalie was able to bring out some innate talent in each of the participants. I would definitely recommend this event and will be looking for more art courses with Belfast Art Group.

Title or Location: Valdemossa in Mallorca
I painted this using Winsor & Newton watercolour paints on Hahnemuhle 140lb paper. I visited Mallorca in 2005 and fell in love with the hilltop hamlet of Valdemossa. I recently found a postcard I'd bought while there and decided to try and capture the image. My name is Dave JarvisI am quite new to painting.I only took it up when I retired from work just over three years ago. I used to work in heavy industry as an engineer. After retirement I needed something to do with my time, I don?t know why I started painting. I just thought I would have a go. Everything I have done has been self taught, picking up tips here and there but mainly from the internet.I find it very relaxing and the time just flies by. Most of my art work is in watercolour

I was researching Arizona Native Americans and found Geronimo very interesting. Quote: "He was a fierce leader of the Apache tribe who fought against Mexican and American invaders for decades. He was also a prisoner, a farmer, and a writer. He was Geronimo." I used several photos as inspiration and the painting is what I came up with.
