I thought it was a very good introduction to oils. Whilst we didn't spend a lot of time attempting to paint a piece in the medium, we were given a solid introduction to the mechanics of use (e.g., how to mix colour, how to apportion thinners, how to clean etc.,). This for me was particularly important.
Very good tutor, relaxed environment and excellent model. Only criticism was cold venue and would have been good to have a few easels available.
It was a really enjoyable and the overall session went well. Any suggestions I make are only for improvement- I would honestly go back and the session did inspire me to tackle more.

The event was good

Title or Location: The Crow and the Moon Pool
In this piece, a solitary crow perches elegantly on the edge of a moonlit pool, its feathers glistening with an ethereal sheen. The scene is set within the hauntingly beautiful ruins of an ancient courtyard, where ivy-clad arches and weathered stone walls whisper tales of forgotten times. The moon, full and luminous, casts a silvery glow across the serene water, creating an almost magical reflection that seems to merge the boundaries between reality and fantasy. Flickering torches line the passa

Title or Location: Lulu the Shih Tzu
This watercolour painting was a private commission for a milestone birthday gift that I was delighted to be asked to paint. I thoroughly enjoyed painting Lulu the Shih Tzu, especially as she has some good areas of white fur. I found white fur very intimidating at first, but you very quickly learn to see colour in white and, as a result, white fur has actually become my favourite type to paint. I love how it seems to reflect and absorb other colours around, so much so that white fur is never actu

Title or Location: Growing Up
This is my exam piece. In this I wanted to express how our life changes as we shift from childhood to adulthood. I?ve painted myself holding an image that includes objects that I associate with childhood and innocence, with the figure surrounded by objects I would associate with my teenage years/adolescence. The idea is that I am looking back at a time when life was simpler.

20x24 mixed media on canvasI knew for two weeks before hand that I wanted to try a cityscape with a crow in it while utilizing texture paste and acrylic ink, to add to my new decor. I was experiencing sadness of loss one day and just had to paint. My mood is definitely reflected in this despite my original intentions. I added the old pocket watch in the crows mouth for the illustration of the stolen time.
