REVIEWS
I thought it was a very good introduction to oils. Whilst we didn't spend a lot of time attempting to paint a piece in the medium, we were given a solid introduction to the mechanics of use (e.g., how to mix colour, how to apportion thinners, how to clean etc.,). This for me was particularly important.

Very good tutor, relaxed environment and excellent model. Only criticism was cold venue and would have been good to have a few easels available.

Title or Location: The old barge
Old barge near the lock keepers cottage, close to Shaws Bridge. Fineliner pens and watercolour, the water was bright green when I took the photo last summer, so it looks like the barge is sitting on grass.

I've been trying out some different things, I'm inspired by pop-art and graffiti style art. This piece was done using ohuhu markers and posca pens.

The book of Revelation has always interested me, especially the four horseman and their mounts. I wanted to focus on the horses in this painting. From left to right: Famine, War, Conquest, Death.

Title or Location: Sunset at Boukari Harbour, Corfu
I started painting 6 years ago after attending a paint night at a local bar (just for fun) in Vancouver, Canada, where I had been living. I was addicted! Youtube videos have been a great way to learn and grow. The journey has been frustrating at times but it has also become my stress relieving activity.I visited Corfu at the beginning of June and loved the sunsets at this location in the South East of the Island. When I look at skies, clouds , water etc I am always imagining how to paint them

This was a new experience. I knew I needed to be more efficient at creating. So I prayed and with all my art work being are a form of praise and worship, each time I sat to paint, time disappeared. Yet I finished it quicker than any other piece. Once this was done I asked myselfhow'd you do that? I didn't, He did!

Inspiration for this was just flipping through some pictures I took of my garden earlier in the season. I wish the peonies bloomed longer! This painting was done using Chinese colors and brushes on black shuen paper.

Title or Location:
Part of an unreal series from the land of dead birds exploring human extinction. The Unreal series are inspired by the bleak landscapes of Western Australia. In this instance the Blackwood River in Nannup. A poet friend who doesn't want to be named sends me photos she thinks would form a perfect backdrop for the land of dead birds. The birds themselves are Frankenstein compositions all framed by Art Nouveau/Lovecraftian inspired frames. The land of deadbirds is part of a wider exploration of war
