REVIEWS
I thought it was a very good introduction to oils. Whilst we didn't spend a lot of time attempting to paint a piece in the medium, we were given a solid introduction to the mechanics of use (e.g., how to mix colour, how to apportion thinners, how to clean etc.,). This for me was particularly important.

Very good tutor, relaxed environment and excellent model. Only criticism was cold venue and would have been good to have a few easels available.

It was a really enjoyable and the overall session went well. Any suggestions I make are only for improvement- I would honestly go back and the session did inspire me to tackle more.

Watercolour sketch with pen, of the Giants Ring in Belfast. I have recently been trying to improve my watercolour painting and this is my most recent attempt. I'm pleased with how it turned out but I'm looking to learn and improve with each painting.

Title or Location: The Keeper of the Lost Library
In the heart of an ancient forest, hidden from the eyes of men, stood the remnants of an old library. &8203This was no ordinary library it was a repository of forgotten knowledge, a sanctuary for ancient &8203wisdom, and a place where magic still whispered through the dust-laden air. The abandoned hall &8203spoke of a time long past, yet the place still pulsed with an undeniable aura of enchantment.Perched upon a pile of old hardback books, sat a solitary crow its feathers shimmering

I painted this portrait as a favour for a friend. It was based off a black and white photo taken of his mother at the Phoenix Park racecourse in the late 70s.

We visited Inis Meain off the west coast of Ireland in 2017 and this cow was just down the road from the hotel where we were staying, so I just had to paint it! This image was painted with Acrylic inks on illustration board.

This was my first attempt at scraperboard and I was trying to create a picture with dramatic lighting that would make the most of the medium. As it turned out, a lot of the board was left black and untouched to represent the shadows, so it was easier than I thought!

A friend asked me to create a painting for her to give to her sister as wedding gift. She sent me some some ideas of colour pallettes she liked and I used a photo I had taken of the landscape in Oxfordshire as inspiration. I painted the whole canvas bright pink first and let it dry and then painted on top.

Title or Location: Katy
I painted this as a memorial portrait for my friends, Delyn and Elizabeth Christian, originally from Columbus and now living in Tennessee. Delyn has been very active in the Columbus music scene for years and even wrote a song about Katy. The following is more info about Katy's life: Katy came to Fretnot Farm in Woodbury Tennessee in July 2012. She was six months old. Her mother was a companion dog to a Veteran who served in Iraq. Katy fit right in to the five acre farm and spent each day
